For those JADE Diver's parents who missed the meeting here is the new schedule sign-up procedure.  Please follow the directions below to begin signing your diver's up for workouts.  If you have questions please let Jeff know. 

Once you have sent your email to get approved, you will not get an email confirming your approval, so check the site a day or two after you apply and you should be good to go.

Dear Parents and Divers,  

As we have mentioned to some of you, we will be attempting to utilize a Yahoo Groups account to better manage our daily activities.  This site will be used to display the schedule, maintain the team directory, manage group emails and allow online practice sign-up.  The Internet address to access this account is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jade5333/.  The directions for using this site can be found below: 

 

  1. You have to register with Yahoo (it is free) to be a member of this group.  JADE Diving MUST approve all memberships.  This is to maintain the safety of the members.  If you would like to request admission to the group please email jade5333-subscribe@yahoogroups.com  Include your name and relationship to the club, as it is difficult to identify you from your email addresses.  It would be a good idea for your parents to subscribe as well.

 

  1. Once your membership has been approved you will have full access to the site.  Currently the only features being used are the “Message”, “Database” and “Calendar” features.  The other options may be added at a later date.

 

  1. MESSAGES – In the current configuration only JADE Diving can send out group emails and all of the replies are sent to us.  The replies will not be seen by other group members.  A list of archived messages can also be found in this selection.

 

  1.  DATABASE – This will be used for our online scheduling.  This includes all JADE workout information. After choosing the “Database” option you will see the open schedules listed by week.  Choose the week that you are interested in and the current sign-ups will be listed.  It will be formatted with the date, time and location in the left-hand column and ten available spots to the right.  If there is a space available in the date and time that you desire click the “EDIT” button on the far right of that date.  Enter the diver’s name in the first empty box and save the record at the bottom of the screen.  If there are no empty boxes then the practice schedule is full (you may still come to the workout with approval from Jeff).  Please do not use the “Add Record”, “Edit Table” or “Delete” commands.  These will alter the format and composition of the table.  If you would like to print a copy of the table select “Printable Record” and send it to your printer.    

 

  1. CALENDAR – The final feature is an online calendar.  This can be viewed at any time by the members, but only JADE Diving can make changes to it.  The calendar will be updated regularly, but the JADE Voicemail will contain the most up-to-date information.  The calendar will also list all known upcoming meets, including high school meets. 

 We realize this may be new and confusing for some of you.  We ask that you try to utilize this site.  We have found it to be very helpful for our daily activities.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
